Defensive Line

With the offseason departure of Paul Soliai to Atlanta, the Miami Dolphins hope newly acquired defensive tackle Earl Mitchell from the Houston Texans can step into an already effective defensive line, and provide aptitude to a sturdy defensive front. The Miami Dolphin’s defense, which ranked tied for 5th in the AFC with 42 sacks on the season, looks to implement young talent to the defensive line, in a pass heavy league.

In the 2014 NFL draft last weekend, the Miami Dolphins acquired defensive end, Terence Fede from Marist in the 7th round, who looks to prove his pass rushing skills at the next level.  Fede, who lead the FCS in total sacks last season (13), and also broke Marist’s individual season record in sacks, as well as the Marist career record with 30.5.

Beyond the draft, the Miami Dolphins also acquired several undrafted free agents on the defensive line (4 in total) who strive to make an opening day NFL roster come September 7th. Here is the current state of the defensive line:
