Dolphins Promote Schoen

The Miami Dolphins have seen fit to promote Joe Schoen to Director of Player Personnel.  Schoen has been a member of the Dolphins scouting staff for six seasons but is in his first, obviously, with Dennis Hickey.  Schoen came to Miami in 2008 as part of the Bill Parcells failed makeover attempt.

In his first five seasons with Miami, Schoen served as a national scout before serving as Asst. Dir. of College scouting last year.  According to the Miami Herald.

“Joe is a talented evaluator with knowledge and experience in various roles, his diverse skillset and leadership makes him a great fit for his new role going forward, over the past few months I have worked closely with Joe and have seen firsthand the value he brings to the organization. We will continue to make every effort to improve all aspects of the Miami Dolphins and with the recent addition of Eric Stokes and the promotion of Joe Schoen we feel that we are continuing on the path of our goal to return championship football to the Miami Dolphin” – Dennis Hickey

The promotion was first reported by the Miami Herald early this afternoon.

“…our goal to return championship football to the Miami Dolphin.”
Which Dolphin is he referring to?

I wasn’t aware we needed a Director. We were doing so well. Remember that one guy from last year’s draft that did really well that one game? Well, I just hope the new position doesn’t go to his head and he stops recruiting out of top tier schools or something crazy like that.
