The team has reported Wednesday that the Dolphins have waived tight end Emmanuel Ogbuehi, and signed free agent wide receiver Gerald Ford.
Emmanuel Ogbuehi played his college ball at Georgia State, where he started at tight end. Ogbuehi then signed with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free agent, and was later cut in the final round of roster cuts in 2013. He then later joined the Miami Dolphins practice squad, where he signed a reserves contract to keep him for the rest of the season. Ogbuehi was notably taking roles in the backfield at the fullback position throughout offseason workouts.
On the other hand, Gerald Ford played his college football for Valdosta State last season, and later was featured in a brief stint with the Cleveland Browns following being signed as an undrafted free agent. Ford weights in as another 6’3″ wide receiver, and notably ran a 4.6 40 yard dash at his pro day, along with repping 225 pounds 22 times.
In 2012, Ford totaled 69 receptions for 1,026 yards and 13 touchdowns.
The Dolphins are finishing their scheduled OTAs tomorrow, and their veteran mini-camp will begin June 17th-19th, which is the only mandatory offseason activity.
