Dolphins Sign 1st Round Pick James

The Miami Dolphins drafted their right tackle of the future and today they signed their right tackle of the future.  Agreeing to terms with first round pick Ja’Wuan James leaves the Dolphins  with only Billy Turner left unsigned.

The Dolphins are hoping that James can be the answer to their line issues on the right side earlier rather than later.  Considered by some to be a slight reach at number 19, James isn’t guaranteed to be the starting tackle opening day.  Although it’s very likely that the spot will James to lose in training camp.

With head coach Joe Philbin sitting on a seat that could grow warmer as the season progresses, having his and Dennis Hickey’s draft class have success will be an important step to finding success.  The Dolphins will sport four new offensive lineman this year.

The only guaranteed returning starter on the line is center Mike Pouncey.  The Dolphins signed free agent Brandon Albert to play the left side and a couple of journeymen lineman to compete at right and left guard.  The Dolphins did not address the right tackle position in free agency and thus are relying heavily on their first round pick.

Why would they give him more $$$ then the rookie scale??? Big bonus?
And it’s the first time since the rookie scale that ALL MONEY is garaunteed!!?
    Why??? IDK… SMH…

Yeah, I wasn’t overly thrilled with that either. Makes no sense and sounds like bad management to me.

And THill hit Wallace twice in the chest for TDs and he dropped the both??.. DE Vernon sacked Thill twice and blew by LT Branden Albert (one of the if not the highest paid $$ LTs in the league)…
I hope this changes once the pads go on… Can’t have Moore/Devlin team beat Tannehill’s team in that split team scrimmage 11-11 today..
Well… Atleast WR Jarvis Landry is having a good camp so far (also Binns).. Which isn’t quite a surprise for me… I’m starting to think Landry will be alittle more involved in the passing game this year…. Also Jordan is showing flashes with him gaining some lbs of muscle.. Won’t beat out Vernon though… They got to find something for him to do.. Putting him at OLB, so both Vernon and Jordan can be on the field at the same time… idk .. We’ll see…
RB Lamar Miller is looking like he’ll regain his starting RB gig over Moreno.. Don’t know if that’s a good thing or bad.. Good for Miller, bad for Moreno, who showed up alittle chubby…
They can actually still cut Moreno and save a lot of that 3 Mil.. If it comes down to that..
Well… Later… Nothing until the end of July when camp open up and the pads go on…
    Phins up!

I was very disappointed last year because Binns was injured and didn’t play. I have expected good things from this young man. The other stuff will become immaterial if the Dolphins start winning games and shine in the last quarter of the season (injuries notwithstanding)… if they don’t win or are unable to be consistent, it will all matter… even the good moves. I remain optimistic about the future and expect to give the Phins a great grade going into pre-season, but for that, I need to first attend a couple of the training camp work outs.
