Miami Dolphins By The Numbers: 30 and 31

We will have an update for you on Saturday as to where we stand. The preview guide will likely be canceled this year due to time restrictions and cost so we will leave it fully up to all of you, our readers, to determine these winners. So that takes us to numbers 30 and 31.

No player truly stands out when you hear the number 30. Sure, Chris Clemons but he is only the most recent. There are some decent options that should make this interesting. Ron Davenport had a solid career for four seasons and Bernie Paramalee carved out a solid career as well for six.

Sam Price wore the number first from ’66-’68, Bryant Salter wore it 1976.  Ron Davenport ’85-’89, Bernie Paramalee ’92-’98, Obafemi Ayanbadejo ’03, Lamar Gordon ’04, Lance Schulters ’05, Michael Lehan 2006, Casey Cramer ’08, and Chris Clemons ’09-’12. Today it’s worn by Jalil Brown.

Number 31 takes us to a few more names we all should recognize. George Chesser wore it first in ’67, Barry Pryor from ’69-’70, Terry Cole in ’71, Norm Bulaich from ’75-79, Rock Moser in ’80, Eddie Hill from ’81-84, Sean Hill ’94-’96, Brock Marion’98-’03, Sammy Morris ’04-’06, Lance Schulters 2007, Evan Oglesby 2010, Al Harris 2010, Charles Clay 2011, Richard Marshall 2012. Today Michael Thomas wears the number.

I do find it funny how many players change their numbers throughout their careers or that a new player will buy the number from another one. Uniform numbers are to athletes as important as their names. Here are your choices for number 31.

When I think of 30 I definitely think of Bernie Parmalee; A guy who came off a UPS dock stacking boxes to an NFL starting RB. He had his moments plus being an outstanding ST player.
