Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey and his brother Maurkice Pouncey have been accused of assaulting a man at a Soutbeach night club. The victim alleges that he sustained a cut that required ten stitches on his face.
The case is interesting because no charges have been filed and the victim, Ricky Vasquez is claiming that he was “jumped by four bouncers and the Pouncey twins”. He took to Twitter to announce the beating and name the suspects. Seems a little more like an appeal for public opinion. He alleges that the issues stemmed from his own sexual orientation and that one of the Pouncey’s used a gay slur towards him.
Pouncey of course was one of those named in the Jonathan Martin case. Mike Pouncey will also miss the next three months following hip surgery.
Miami Police are investigating the incident.
Both Pouncey’s celebrate their birthday at the Cameo club yearly. Last season the twins made headlines when they wore “Free Hernandez” hats.
UPDATE: Sources have told local news outlets that the Pouncey brothers were not involved. The police are still investigating the incident. If that turns out to be true, the police need to investigate why the accuser publicly named the Pouncey twins.
