The Miami Dolphins are banged up a bit here and there but it’s the quarterback position at the moment they are concerned with. Pat Devlin missed the Atlanta Falcons game with a hamstring injury and Matt Moore is still nursing a shoulder ailment. The Dolphins are now looking to bring in some quarterbacks to work out and one of those is Rex Grossman according to his agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Grossman has been a journeyman quarterback the last few years and if signed would compete for a back-up job behind Ryan Tannehill.
In other Dolphins injury news, running back Damien Williams is expected to return to practice today after suffering a leg injury that required a cart to remove him from the filed late in Friday night’s pre-season game. Williams has been looking good in practice and the Dolphins are hoping to see what he can do throughout pre-season. Having him back at practice will go along way in him making the roster, something that looks possible.
The Dolphins practiced in 107 degree field conditions on Sunday and our own Tony Lopez was on site for the practice so look for some updates throughout the week.
In safety news, it’s looking as though the Dolphins are going to go the Jimmy Wilson route to replace Reshad Jones after his four game suspension. Wilson has missed only two games in his three years thus far but has only started four games and not consecutively. Wilson didn’t have a good game on Friday night but the Dolphins expect the back-up veteran to step into the role and do well.
