The Miami Dolphins have 86 players on their roster. By the end of the day they will have 75. Yesterday they released three but added a kicker and a defensive tackle. The wheels keep on churning.
The Dolphins added kicker Jake Rogers to replace John Potter who has a hip injury which is a shame considering Potter was looking pretty good in place of Caleb Sturgis who has a groin injury. The move was expected as the team worked out Rogers on Monday. Rogers is a journeyman kicker and the Dolphins may look at veteran releases prior to the start of the season if Sturgis can’t get on the field.
In addition to Rogers the Dolphins added defensive tackle Cory Grissom. Grissom, a South Florida product has spent time with the Chiefs and Patriots since 2013. To make room for Grissom the Dolphins releases Demetrius Wright a depth safety and offensive tackle Steven Baker.
The team must get to the league mandated 75 man roster by close of business this afternoon.
