The Miami Dolphins are working out their roster kinks as they pare down to 75. Already gone are RB/WR Marcus Thigpen and RB Daniel Thomas. Now we learn from various sources that the Dolphins have informed RB Orleans Darkwa that he has made the roster and that safety Jordan Kovacs has been released as has wide-receiver Kevin Cone.

The Dolphins apparently have informed DT Anthony Johnson that he has also made the roster. Johnson tweeted a short time ago:

In addition to the above cuts, the Dolphins are releasing WR Matt Hazel and OG David Arkin per Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald. The team, according to Beasley, is also parting ways with LB Andrew Wilson and QB Seth Lobato, as well as placing DT Kemal Johnson on IR with a torn meniscus. It’s looking good for now for Garrison Smith to make the defensive line. Cornerback Kevin Fogg has also been released.

There is no news on whether un-drafted running back Damien Williams has made the team but indications are that he will. The Dolphins could hold Darkwa until after tomorrows free agent waiver wire claims and then release him and add him to the practice squad.

UPDATE: Both Tevin Mims and Garrison Smith are being released. The Dolphins may try to get Smith on the practice squad. This according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.

Olineman Kevin Finkenberg and Tony Hills have both been told they are being released according to the very busy Barry Jackson at the Herald.

The Dolphins have made 15 of the 20 needed moves to get to 53.

UPDATE: Sam Brenner has been released.  Jake Rogers, the new kicker has been released as well. Gator Hoskins told he has made the roster according to Barry Jackson.

UPDATE:  Isaako Aaitui has been released. A little surprised here. Not that he is being cut but would have thought he would make the team with Garrison Smith released.

UPDATE: According to Adam Beasley WR Rishard Matthews will not be traded and will in fact be on the 53 man roster. The Dolphins now have three solid slot WR’s in Gibson, Matthews, and Landry. Damian Williams looks to be close to making roster as well.

UPDATE: Dolphins have released DE D’Aundre Reed per the Miami Herald.

UPDATE: The Dolphins have cut TE Evan Wilson. Now at 53.
