For the Miami Dolphins and their fans, a return to football in August came at a perfect time. Summer was closing in on it’s end as families prepared to send their kids back to school and northern fans were enjoying the last two months of great weather before winter would kick in. In Miami and all NFL cities August brings the start of training camp, the start of pre-season games, and the hope that the upcoming season would be one to remember. It’s a time that is full of optimism and it’s a time that news returns quickly to the internet.

As we continue our look back at the 2014 season we dive into August with the excitement of a return to football.

August 1st

The Miami Dolphins completed their first intra-squad scrimmage. Jarvis Landry showed off a little of what he had in store for the season but overall the performance of the offense was a little lackluster.

August 5th

The first official depth chart of the season is announced. Little surprises are noticed.

August 6th

After spending much of the off-season injured and on the PUP list, the Miami Dolphins activate Knowshon Moreno to the team. Moreno, while not taken off the PUP list is still not able to go full speed and would spend most of the training camp getting into shape.
