The Miami Dolphins have had some real doozies when it comes to draft picks and it seems that over the last 15 years there has been more of those stinkers than anything else. That doesn’t mean that Miami hasn’t had some great draft selections.

More from Dolphins All-Time Lists

The list of best draft picks could far exceed our ten player limit if we were to include Bob Griese, Larry Csonka, Dan Marino, Dwight Stephenson, and the like. I mean you have to have Hall of Fame players on your best draft list. Well, let’s leave them off this one. For one, they are all no-brainers and second, Miami has made some pretty darn good draft picks that are not in the Hall of Fame who have had huge impacts on both the team and the history of the team.

Number 10

Jason Taylor & Zach Thomas

Together…the way it should be

We can kick this off with one of the no-brainers that we were going to exclude simply because you can’t beat the value of the players compared to their draft position. Jason Taylor was a 3rd round pick and Zach Thomas a 5th, the teams 3rd 5th round pick at that. Both players were selected by Jimmy Johnson and both became a huge part of the Miami Dolphins organization and beloved by the fan base. We don’t need to go into details about what they accomplished or what they mean to Miami simply because if you don’t know, you are a very new fan…which by the way, Welcome to Miami Dolphins football!
