Now that the draft is over, Miami should look to fill their holes through free agency. These are few players they should think about adding.

More from Dolphins News

Even thought the draft is over, Miami still has many needs to fill. The Dolphins should turn it’s attention to free agency to fill those holes. The market for the players that are still available has declined, and so Miami should have a chance to get quality players at a reasonable price. Here are my top five

Leon Hall– Miami has a major need a cornerback and Leon Hall could be just what they need. He is a proven veteran able to come in and start right away. Hall could fill in at the slot position for Miami and help develop the young guys like Tony Lippett and Bobby McCain. He would add depth to a desperately thin corner position.

Hall is 31 years old so he shouldn’t demand too high a price tag or interest from other teams. He has played for Vance Joseph and should be comfortable with the scheme the Dolphins will play. With Miami going up against Tom Brady twice a year, they need three quality corners. Hall is the only sure thing, Miami’s other corners are all question marks. If Miami misses out on Hall they could be one injury away from disaster at the corner position.

Matt Slausen– There is no denying that Miami’s biggest hole the last few years has been the offensive line. The Dolphins have drafted Laremy Tunsil to be an answer to that question, but Miami shouldn’t stop there. Matt Slausen is a proven guard that would fit in well in Miami. He played under Adam Gase’s system last year and knows the offense Miami will likely run.

Slausen is 3o years old, which is not too old for guards in the NFL. He could provide real depth on Miami’s offensive line, unlike Dallas Thomas. With Tunsil likely starting at one of the guard positions, there is still a question about the other. Slausen would be the first real competitive guard added this season.

Antonio Cromartie– Antonio Cromartie used to be a shut down corner. He used to dominate one side of the field and scare you away from throwing near him. He is not that player anymore, but he is still a quality corner. He has the capability to come in and be a playmaker for the Miami defense.

Cromartie has never been one to shy away from the leader role. He knows what it takes to be a great player in this league. Adding Cromartie would not only help by making plays himself, he would elevate the play of the young corners on the roster. He would be able to bring along the younger players and teach them how to be Pro Bowlers. Not to mention he should come cheap.

Ronnie Hillman– The Dolphins say that they are confident in their backfield, but they should look into a veteran back to come in and compete. Jay Ajayi has one year of experience and has a history of injuries. If Miami wants to make it through the season they need to have an insurance plan. Ronnie Hillman is exactly the kind of player they should look into.

Hillman is still a young back and has the experience that Miami needs. He would be a great change of pace back for Jay Ajayi if Kenyan Drake can’t pick up the blocking schemes and start right away. Hillman has played in Adam Gase’s offense and knows what it takes to be a Super Bowl champion. He is just starting to hit his prime, and the Dolphins can have a great backfield with Ajayi and Hillman splitting carries.

Reggie Bush– Bush would be the second option after Hillman when it comes to adding a veteran running back. When he was in Miami he showed he was not a one trick pony. He has the ability to run between the tackles, block, and catch passes out of the backfield. He could be the veteran presence on the roster that Miami needs.

Bush has had the tendency to get injured lately and is on the back end of his career. He should be a cheap addition that could be a great third down back for the Dolphins. He still can make players miss and be an impact player in the return game.

Miami needs to find a way to fill the holes on their roster and these five free agents are a start. They could give Dolphins fans a lot more confidence heading into this season that Miami is interested in winning. Any of these players has the ability to come in and start and make the Dolphins instantly a better team.
