If there are going to be Miami Dolphins players of the week on defense there has to be some on the offensive side of the ball as well.

This week it’s both hard and easy to name two players for the Offensive Players of the Week. That is, it’s easy to name the worst player of the week but not so easy to name the best.

We will get the easy one out of the way first.

Kenny Stills is this weeks “worst player of the week” on offense. Frankly there is no excuse for dropping a touchdown pass that very well could have changed the outcome of the game and possibly given the Dolphins an upset victory.

Stills’ drop of the 71 yard bomb is highlighted by the fact he was brought to Miami to be the deep threat. If he can’t catch it, he isn’t a threat. Stills finished the day with one catch on five targets for 16 yards.

Andrew Franks was seriously considered for this spot as well.

This week’s “Best” player of the week on the offensive side of the ball is more or less based on opinion. As in my opinion and thus my choice.

While Jarvis Landry is deserving and some could even argue Ryan Tannehill after his late 4th quarter touchdown drive but to me this weeks best player is Anthony Steen.

Steen played in his first NFL game at a position he has played only through pre-season in his entire career. Steen played very well. It wasn’t perfect but Tannehill held up well in the back-field and Steen called a good game at the line.

Making his debut more impressive was that Steen was blocking one of the best defensive lines in the NFL and he held his own very well. With Mike Pouncey out next week with a small hip fracture and maybe the week after that, Steen is getting a chance to grow quickly and get better.
