Each week the Phinphanatic staff will bring you their prediction for the upcoming game.  This week has the Miami Dolphins hosting the New York Jets in a pivotal Week 9 match-up.

Eric Frosbutter

The Dolphins are feeling good coming off the bye week, but the Jets will be no easy task. Despite New York’s subpar record, they’ve dominated this series in recent meetings. Miami has momentum on their side, however, and the home field advantage. Both teams will be seeking their third straight victory in what is sure to be a dogfight. I like the Dolphins in a close one.  Prediction:  Dolphins 24 Jets 20

The Miami Dolphins will face one of their biggest rivals in the New York Jets this weekend. The Jets have the best run stopping defense and the Dolphins have a running back who has hit 200 yards in each of the last two games. Personally, I think this game will come down to the passing game on both sides of the ball and I think the threat of running may help the Dolphins more than actually running it.   Prediction:  Dolphins 28  Jets 20

The Jets certainly aren’t the same team as last year and the Dolphins have been showcasing recently that they’re not either.  Even though Miami has shown they’re improving while the Jets still struggle it’s still a division rivalry game, and Miami will need to keep pounding the run game to get the victory.  Prediction Dolphins 24 Jets 23

The Dolphins come into this game trending up, after 2 big wins where they were able to run on top rushing defenses. Now comes a big challenge against the Jets great front four. With the Jets expecting a load of Jay Ajayi, look for Head Coach Adam Gase to mix it up with a lot of play-action to take advantage of the aging Darrelle Revis.  Prediction:  Dolphins 20  Jets 17

Matthew Stevens

Coming off a bye week, the Dolphins probably start slow and hope to wear down the Jets in the 4th quarter.  With the top ranked rush defense coming to town, it’s not likely that Ajayi will rush for 200+ yards again this week.  I see this game coming down to which QB plays better in the 4th quarter and turns the ball over.  Prediction:  Dolphins 17 Jets 16
