Since the draft was shortened from 12 rounds to 7 in 1994, many good players will find themselves going undrafted.  Every year, many undrafted free agents (UDFA) make the final roster of NFL clubs.

The Miami Dolphins filled needs at DE, LB, OG and DT but their draft work isn’t done yet.  Miami could still bolster depth at several of need with UDFA.  As the name implies, these players are truly free agents and are free to sign with whichever team they choose.

Below is a list of 10 players that I believe Miami should pursue heavily and convince them to sign with Miami.

WR Amba Etta-Tawo (Syracuse)  *Singed with Jacksonville

Etta-Tawo possesses good size and great speed but is knocked for having questionable hands.  In time, he could become a deep threat in a 4WR set.  At worst, he’s your scout team vertical/slot threat till Miami finds out if his flaws are correctable.

TE Antony Auclair (Laval, Canada) *Signed with Tampa Bay

NFL.com compares Auclair to current TE Anthony Fasano but, looking at his tape, I see a taller Dion Sims.  He’s raw as a route runner but could replace Fasano next year as the 2nd/in-line TE.

OL Aviante Collins (TCU)  *Signed by Minnesota

Really athletic tackle prospect that also benched 34 reps at the Combine.  He needs work on his footwork and technique but, with coaching, could become a ‘swing tackle’ in the pros.

OL Levon Meyers (Northern Illinois) *Signed by Dallas

Similar to Collins, Meyers has to clean up some technique issues but could has the athleticism to become a tackle in the pros and may even be able to add mass and play at guard.

**DE Keionta Davis (Tennessee-Chatanooga)

Davis had 29.5 career sacks but faced lower level competition.  Despite the sack production, may find a niche more as an Andre Branch than a true pass rusher.

DT Josh Tupou (Colorado)  *Signed with Cincinnati

More from Dolphins Draft

Although the Dolphins selected two defensive tackles in the draft, neither provides the pure ‘mass’ that Tupou (325 lbs) does.  For a team that had trouble plugging the run, Tupou would upgrade that unit.  However, he offers little in the passing game so would be a two-down lineman only.

LB Connor Harris (Lindwood)  *Signed with the New York Jets

Harris has a relentless motor and is decisive in the running game.  Even if he doesn’t see the field as a linebacker, he has the perfect mentality for special teams.

LB Ben Boulware (Clemson) *Signed by the Panthers

A slightly less athletic version of Connor Harris but has proven himself consistently against Division I talent.

S Jadar Johnson (Clemson)  *Signed by the New York Giants

This is the first player I would be on the phone with right now.  Johnson plays a great ‘centerfield’ and has shown play-making ability in his time at Clemson.  Liability against the run that limits him strictly to free safety.

S Lorenzo Jerome (St Francis PA) *Signed by San Francisco

Jerome won’t pass the ‘eye test’ based on measurables but he amased 18 INTs in college and proved at the Senior Bowl that he’s more than a “big fish in a small pond”.

**DE Keionta Davis has apparently not signed yet due to medical concerns over a bulging disk in his neck.  For more info, feel free to read the story http://www.wrcbtv.com/story/35295004/nfl-on-temporary-hold-for-mocs-keionta-davis-as-bulging-disk-heals-itself
