<div></div>
<div></div>
<div>It&#8217;s the day before the draft and there are reports/smoke screens left and right about what every team may or may not do. Every report has to be taken with a grain of salt. I thought it would be a good idea to look at three possible trades that could take place in the AFC East.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Brendan Albert to the Miami Dolphins. Yes i said I didn&#8217;t think this trade would happen, but times have changed and I think Miami will make the right choice, at their price. Kansas City wants a seconds round choice for the Tackle, but I don&#8217;t think they will get it.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The ball is now in Miami&#8217;s court. Miami can tell Kansas City they will give them a second round pick, leading the chiefs to take one of the left tackles. After they pick a tackle miami could easly tell Kansas City they will give them a 3rd round pick.</div>
<div></div>
<div> KC would have their hands tied, having to take the pick, unless they want to keep Albert and the new LT. Wasting both a pick and having to eat Albert&#8217;s contract.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The New England Patriots do not have a lot of picks, only 5 through the entire draft. But that does not mean the Patriots don&#8217;t have to tools to trade for a pick, if they see a player they really like.</div>
<div></div>
<div>Ryan Mallet may be on his way out, especially after Brady signed an extension with the Patriots for three more years. If the Pats wanted Mallet to start, it would be after Brady retired in three years. Mallet would be a six year veteran by then, and he may be to old with too little playing time.</div>
<div></div>
<div>There are at least 5 teams that would like to get some depth at quarterback, even though there aren&#8217;t too many solid rookies in the draft. Mallet may be the best quarterback option this year, better then all QBs in the draft, making him a key trading piece for the Patriots if they choose to get a few extra picks in the draft.</div>
<div></div>
<div>The third could take place near the end of the first round, involving either the Bills or the Jets. I don&#8217;t expect either of these teams to take a QB in the top 13 of the draft. But near the end of the round, if one of these two teams really want a qb it would not be surprising to see them trade back up. The Vikings, or even the Patriots could be trading partners for these teams.</div>

<p>The former Dallas assistant coach who left for greener pastures to be the Chicago Bears head coach, who left after ruining their franchise to take an assistants job with the Dolphins and then got promoted to Head Coach who then left after he he ruined the franchise to take a job as the Pitt head coach to do nothing with their college and then returned to the NFL with the Buffalo Bills to be a defensive coordinator only to get fired has now landed back in the coaching ranks of the NFL.  WHEW!  Talk about one long run-on sentence.  (Frankly I wanted to get all of his past out of the way to make room to talk about his future).</p>
<p>Yes, we are talking about <strong>Dave Wannstedt</strong> who remains ironically the winningest coach in Dolphins history not named<strong> Don Shula</strong>.  Wannstedt who has been canned from more coaching jobs than chicken in a Campbell&#8217;s soup factory landed on his feet this week when he was hired to be the Tampa Bay Buccaneers special teams coach.  Yes, I said &#8220;special teams&#8221; coach.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s a far fall for a coach who served two HC tours in the NFL and one in college as well as a defensive coordinator with a team who&#8217;s defense on paper was supposed to be very good.  I suppose the<strong> two biggest things to take away from this is</strong> 1:  the news for Miami is slow right now and 2:  Don&#8217;t take the Tampa special teams in fantasy football next year.</p>

<p>We all know about the Mike Wallaces and the Greg Jennings that will be on Miami&#8217;s radar this off season. I&#8217;ve been doing a lot of thinking about what other trades, or signings that could not be too bizarre for the Dolphins to attempt. As Jeff Ireland  said &#8220;Everything is on the table.&#8221;</p>
<p>It is hard to not hear about the Jets&#8230; Even when they haven&#8217;t played a game for about a month. But there are stories coming out that Revis may be traded. The Dolphins NEED a corner back, a shut down corner back. I know that everyone will say &#8220;The Jets won&#8217;t trade Revis to a team they have to play twice a year.&#8221; The Jets are a very desperate team, they need to get better. The Jets should trade Revis to the team that gives them the most in return. The Dolphins have A LOT to offer. For a &#8220;perfect&#8221; deal I could see the Dolphins giving up a first round pick and a third round pick for the best corner in the game. The Dolphins need some experience in the secondary, and using two of those five picks for a homerun player does not sound too bad.</p>
<p>Two other players come to my mind that would be a nice fit in the Dolphins secondary to give them a little more experience. Jairus Byrd, who is a free agent, played for Buffalo this season and had five INTS for the bills. The other one, who is also a safety is playing next weekend in the Superbowl, Ed Reed. A very good veteran who is always making plays around the ball, something the Dolphins need. The reason I bring up Reed is because someone on NFL Network mentioned the possibility of Reed going to Miami next season. Everything is still up in the air, but hey, you never know what will happen.</p>
<p>Next year, there is one player set in stone for the Dolphins secondary next year, Reshad Jones who is becoming a very very good player. But he is also young, and the Dolphins will be using some of there picks to bring in some rookies to strengthen the secondary. They need experience, and a leader in the secondary and any of the three plays I mentioned would help the Dolphins in many ways, on and off the field.</p>
<p>On a side note, I&#8217;ve heard a few rumors that Brandon Lloyd may be out in New England. The Pats brought him in to be a deep play threat. He has been unable to fill that need. Also knowing how much the Patriots love to switch players in and out each year, it would not surprise me. Lloyd would be a great pick up for the Dolphins, Not as a number one, but a number two if they can not sign Hartline to a deal. Lloyd signed a three year Twelve million dollar deal last offseason. I&#8217;ve always liked Lloyd, since he was in Denver. If the Dolphins get the chance, I do not think they could let a deal like that go by them.</p>
