The Miami Dolphins have issued some injury updates.  Andre Goodman has been cleared for contact practice and Zach Thomas is still undergoing neurological exams on his head injury.  He missed 2 days of practice this week and is still questionable for the game against the Jets.

The following is cut from MiamiDolphins.com.

INJURY UPDATE: Safety Donovin Darius is day-to-day with a strained calf and did not practice today. He wasn’t even in pads. … Right guard Rex Hadnot (shoulder) was limited again in practice but Cameron said he’s fine. … Wide receiver Chris Chambers strained his calf about a week ago and is day-to-day. … The Jets’ injury status was the same as Wednesday. Right guard Brandon Moore (shoulder), quarterback Chad Pennington (ankle), nose tackle Dewayne Robertson (knee) and defensive back Eric Smith (thigh) all were limited in practice. … Cornerback David Barrett (thigh), linebacker David Bowens (hand), running back Thomas Jones (calf), tight end Joe Kowalewski (shoulder) and fullback Stacy Tutt (foot) participated in a full practice.

DANIELS SWITCHING POSITIONS: Travis Daniels has been lining up at free safety all week in practice after starting at cornerback in the first two games. With Yeremiah Bell out for the season with a torn left Achilles’ tendon and Darius questionable, as well as Andre Goodman now cleared to play with his left shoulder better healed from two offseason surgeries, the move was made apparently to shake up a secondary that has been suspect in the two losses.

According to Daniels, Michael Lehan has taken over his spot at right corner, with Will Allen still at the left corner, and Renaldo Hill has moved into the strong safety spot previously occupied by Bell. Capers said there could be a number of different combinations back there, including some formations where Daniels moves back to cornerback.

We worked Travis (at safety) through training camp and Travis is one of our better ball skill guys,” Capers said. “He’s a bright guy and he’s a guy who can handle more than one thing, so what we’ll be looking at as far as the secondary goes is the more things people can do the more flexibility it gives you. Michael Lehan plays two or three different spots as well as Will Allen, so that’s the advantage of having guys with you that understand the system and have some experience and some football instincts.”
