Injury News and Updates

Here are some updates on the injury front and and some other items making news on this Wednesday morning.

Offensive lineman Joe Toledo is expected to be released from the PUP list early this weekend.  Toledo has been recovering from a broken foot which has kept him out of training camp and every game this year.  Toledo spent last year on the injured list.  He should start practicing with the team next Monday, and all indications are that he should be injured again by next Friday.

There still is no sure updates on the condition of Trent Green or the degree of his level 3 concussion.  Green was permitted to leave Houston with the team, and so far has been ruled out officially for this weekends Cleveland game.  Like that was a question?  At minimum Green should miss at least 3 weeks and truth be told, he should consider seriously hanging up the cleats…at best for Green, he should stay on this year solely as an emergency QB, if he wants to play at all.  In any case, as the symptoms start to ebb and another MRI is taken, the full extent of Greens concussion will be known for sure.   Given the surrounding reported symptoms and signs of the injury provided to the media, it appears that Greens’ injury may be on the mild side of the level 3, without getting into a bunch of medical jargon, however that is not something that will be taken lightly, despite the rejoicing of a few classless fans, the best thing for the Miami Dolphins is what is best for the long term health of Trent Green.

The neck injury to Samson Satele is being reported as “no big deal” according to his agent, an MRI of his neck was negative, but neither Cameron or any other member of the Dolphins is saying what the injury might be.  Early reports were that he was suffering from tingling in his fingers and sharp pains in one of his arms that shot into his neck…sounds like a stinger.

Donovin Darius, who has been nursing a calf injury says he will be ready to play this weekend.  Cameron however has not said that he will.

Despite reports to the contrary, Vonnie Holliday has NOT been cleared to start practicing again and although some have suggested that he is “healing fast”, Holliday will not be playing this weekend and he may not be playing the following week either.

Cam Cameron has defended his decision to punt the ball late in the game against Houston, but told a group of reporters that the play calling leading up to the punt could have been better.  Cameron is in his first year as an NFL head coach and pulls double duty as the offensive coordinator as well…a double wide bulls-eye on his back.
