The Waiting is the Hardest Part

Some of you Miami Dolphins fans out there are probably too young to remember the Tom Petty line.  But it is true, “The waiting, is the hardest part“.  As we wait for the Dolphins to win their first game, as we wait for John Beck to show up on the field, and even as we wait for this season to finally be over, today we wait with a collective breath on the depth of Ronnie Browns injury.

Not much is known about the RBs’ knee which was twisted in the 3rd quarter after a Cleo Lemon interception.  What we do know is that he left the game in an inflatable cast on crutches.  That he spoke of “twisting it” and hoping “it is nothing serious“.

Later today an MRI will be performed and we will have our answer.  Ronnie Brown came into yesterdays league at the top of the combined yardage stats with over 700.  He may have been in line for his 1st pro-bowl birth.  Now, we wait to see if he will suit up at all this year.

If Ronnie’s injury is a maybe then Renaldo Hills’ injury is serious.  Or so that one seems.  Hill injured his knee while trying to defend Randy Moss on one of his two touchdown receptions.  He lay writhing in pain after the play, he too would leave the game and not return, an MRI will also be performed on his knee as well.  Hill has started every game for the Dolphins going back to last year.  An season ending injury to Hill would devastate a team that already is hurting very badly in that unit.

Speaking of injuries, there at least is none to report about Zach Thomas who was in an accident on the way home from the game.  Adding insult to injury I am sure.  Thomas’ wife was driving at the time in stop and go traffic when their 2007 Mercedes was rear-ended, the car had to be towed off the turnpike.  No injuries were reported.

Trent Green was placed on IR last week and Cam Cameron has admitted that it was not what Green wanted.  Trent Green will now be a 5th round draft pick assistant coach for the remainder of the year.  Yesterday he was coaching and mentoring Cleo Lemon and John Beck on the art of reviewing in game photos.
