Time to Get Back to Business…or Finally Get Down to Business

The Miami Dolphins 3 day weekend is over, it is now time to get back to business, or for that matter, it is finally time to get down to business all together.

After enduring the first half of the worst year in Dolphins history, Cam Cameron has the daunting task of turning around an 0-8 team looking for more than just it’s first win. It needs to find it’s identity.

With the Patriots winning again on Sunday against the previous unbeaten Colts, the 1972 record is in jeopardy and the 2007 Phins are primed to set the NFL record in futility.

There will be no Ronnie Brown, there will be no Chris Chambers, there may not even be a John Beck for a few more games. What happens in this next week, the words coming out of Cameron’s mouth and the Phins actions could not only dictate the results of the remaining games, but bring into question the path of the future.

The Dolphins were once proud, they were once competitive. Over the last 1o years, they have degraded to the what they are today.

Fans want answers and fans want someone to blame. Cam Cameron will get no passes from fans wanting a winning team again. Randy Mueller will not get a pass from fans wanting answers to off-season transactions. Dom Capers will not get a pass from fans who want to know why our defense is as bad as it is, when only a year ago they ranked number 4 in the NFL.

These are the questions that forced Wayne Huizenga into an internal review. These are the questions that have fans screaming for yet again more change. Even though it has been continual change that has secured this team in team history. 4 head coaches since 2004, 4 general managers since 2004, 5 new offensive systems in as many years. All lend their hand to the problems at hand.

So as the second half of the season begins officially on Monday, the 2007 Miami Dolphins will face little pressure to salvage a season. They will face the weight of the world to get their first win, and that pressure could be the worse of all.

We only have 8 more weeks to see how it all plays out. Those 8 weeks, they start now.
