Tis' The Season To Give Back…Help The Miami Dolphins Help Kids!!!
By Brian Miller
Being the holiday season and all it’s that time for you to give back. The Miami Dolphins will be holding a special drive this Sunday prior to their game against the New England Patriots and your help is needed. Partnering with the United States Marine Corp, the “Toys for Tots” program is one of the largest nationwide programs designed to bring children of different ages a special Christmas and holiday season. Each year across the NFL teams ask that their fans bring a toy for either a boy or a girl of varying age to the stadium to drop off at the gates as they enter. This weekend is your chance to give something back.
Seriously, your help is needed as these toys will go to children who otherwise may get nothing this holiday. While we all take stock of the economic problems we face, we all must remember that in no way is this the product of this countries children, it’s their future problems. No child should ever experience the hope of the holiday season with the arrival only to have those hopes dashed with the realization that no one cares.
This is a nationwide blog and for that matter a site that is read as others are, acro
ss the world, so it’s painfully obvious that many of you, including myself, have no way of making it to Miami for the game, or any NFL stadium for that matter. Don’t let that deter you or your family as there are local “Toys for Tots” campaigns going on all around you. Christmas and the holiday season is a time for giving so don’t think of it as an obligation think of it as a selfless act.
Two days ago my son brought home a star off a tree at his school. It had a name of a 9 year old boy. On the back it simply says “car”. While “car” may be simple, the real truth to that is that without us, without that caring inside of us, children like that 9 year old boy would get nothing this holiday season. Don’t let a child near you feel that way. Help the Miami Dolphins and help your community. If your going to the game or even driving by the stadium, stop and drop, something for someone. It’s not your duty, it’s not even something you have to do. But imagine for one moment if something ever happened to you and that was your child who was doing without. Then make your decision.
The Miami Dolphins and the NFL are giving back, not to the fans, but to the children of all o
ur futures. We all should too. What happens next, for these children in need, is up to all of us and this is something that we all can actually make a difference on.
