Dolphins’ Relative Incident Free Offseason
By Gene Hauze
There appears to be a new Sheriff in Dolphinland. His name is Joe Philbin (Dolphins Head Coach). Sheriff Joe has preached to the media that he wants players of “high character” — players that put team, organization, community, and family first. And, players seem to be hearing the message echoing Sheriff Joe’s wants in recent media availabilities.
“High character” means, at a minimum, not being arrested! That means not using drugs, not drinking and driving, not beating up your wife or girl friend, not brandishing a firearm in a night club, etc. What a novel idea — not breaking the law! And, it seems to be working. The Dolphins have had a relative incident free off-season.
According to Business Insider, “fewer than half the teams in the NFL — 14 to be exact — have not had a player arrested this off-season — at least, not yet”. This is kind of a sad state of affairs in the NFL. Here is a summary of the list they compiled of NFL players who have been arrested this off-season, up until July 16th.
