#1: Loser: K Dan Carpenter

When the game comes down to you as a kicker and you are one of the more reliable kickers in the game, you are expected to win the game, right? Hmm..

Certainly I am not pinning Miami’s losses on Carpenter himself. Maybe if Tannehill did not take that sack, or if he had thrown it to _____ instead of _____, we would have won the game. Maybe if Reggie had went ____ instead of running ____ we would have won the game. But something happened last season to the Dan Carpenter we all knew.

Combine Carpenter’s inconsistency last season with his high salary for a place kicker ($3+ mill) and you have a potential cap casualty on your hands. Add in the selection of Florida Gator, Caleb Sturgis, yikes.

Carpenter has quite the battle on his hands to retain his kicking duties for the squad. It likely will not end in his favor. If Carpenter can not become more consistent during Training Camp (he was not consistent during OTAs AT ALL), he will be out of a job sooner rather than later.

Can the Carp defeat the Sturgeon?
