7: RB Tre Mason, Auburn
This off-season the Dolphins signed Knowshon Moreno to a one year deal. That does not mean that the team will not look at RB in the draft. In fact many expect them to do just that. Lamar Miller will now have competition from Moreno and there is a lot of speculation that Daniel Thomas could be on the way out. To say nothing of Marcus Thigpen or Mike Gillislee who also could find their time in Miami drawing quickly to a close.
Mason is the reigning SEC Player of the Year and is projected as a round two or three talent. Mason has a low center of gravity and plays more like Reggie Bush out of the backfield without the passing game attack. Something he needs to work on. Still, he is a motor with great vision and upfield movement. He sees holes and hits them quickly while showing a great ability to slide and make defenders miss. Mason is a weapon on offense and has plenty of room to improve his game. He will need to bulk up a bit to take some of the more frequent hits but his transition to the NFL shouldn’t be a hard one.
