Dion Jordan, Miami Dolphins
Last season was a less than stellar year for rookie Dion Jordan and the Miami Dolphins, and Dion’s sophomore year may prove to be a crucial one. Jordan, who was selected number 3 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, had high expectations from many Dolphin’s fans and fans around the league.
Jordan only played a total of 339 defensive snaps last season, according to Pro Football Focus, which was about 29% of the total defensive snaps for the Dolphins.
Jordan was most notably on the field in particular on third down/pass rushing situations to provide pressure on the quarterback. With the outstanding season for Oliver Vernon, who had a surprising season on the opposing side of star Cameron Wake, Jordan may have trouble finding defensive snaps for a second consecutive year.
There has been a lot of questions for Dolphins fans in regards to where Dion Jordan will play, as there has been skepticism about Jordan playing at defensive end, we may see Jordan occasionally filling a void in the linebacking unit as well.
Throughout the offseason there has been numerous trade rumors involving Jordan, involving the Dolphins reportedly shopping him to the Philadelphia Eagles. However, Jordan will be entering his second year in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins, and is poised to make more of an impact on the field.
