Miami Dolphins Week 8 Fantasy Football Options
By Brian Miller
Will this Sunday’s game between the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars leave you wishing you had started a Dolphins player or agonizing over the fact you truly believed the Dolphins would play hard and instead they fell flat? On paper this is a dream match-up for a Dolphins team who has played well two straight weeks and three if you go back to Oakland. The loss at Green Bay was a last second loss that easily could have been a win. So will the Dolphins let down after a big win in Chicago? Maybe but you still need to start some of your Dolphins fantasy football players.
Mike Wallace: Wallace is a solid number two or three/flex wide receiver in your leagues and frankly should be starting moving forward in one of those spots. The Dolphins are finding more ways to get the ball to him and while he isn’t exploding fantasy points he is consistent. Against Jacksonville the Dolphins could find the opportunity to hit that elusive deep ball. Wallace should be good for at least one score this Sunday.
Brian Hartline: Hartline is a free agent in 99% of the fantasy football leagues out there and that is probably where he should stay. Even for this weekend. The Dolphins simply have too many other options right now so Hartline has become an afterthought in the offense at this point. He is going to get a solid week of stats here soon but not likely this week as others will once again shine instead.
Charles Clay: Clay looked more like the TE you drafted in the mid-rounds instead of the bust that so many felt they had. Clay was dropped by many teams only a few short weeks ago and is a decent flex/bye week option if you need a TE or fill in. Last week doesn’t seem to be a fluke as we saw this type of play from him last season. Clay is healthy for the first time all season so look to Tannehill to go his way more in the coming weeks.
Lamar Miller: Miller is the workhorse back in Miami now with the IR designation for Knowshon Moreno and this week should be a very good week for the runner. The Jaguars are injured defensively and lost LB Paul Posluzny for the season. Miller should put up over 100 yards this week and there is no reason he shouldn’t score at least one if not two touchdowns.
Ryan Tannehill: Two weeks ago the thought of starting Tannehill would have been a laugher but he is performing better than he has in his entire career. After a slow start against Green Bay Tannehill came alive and hasn’t stopped since. In fact going all the way back to Oakland, Tannehill has been playing well with a QB rating over 85 and six touchdowns. He is also starting to use his legs more. Tannehill isn’t a bad option this week if you need a bye week change out.
Jarvis Landry: Landry is available in most fantasy leagues all of them unless they have a bunch of Dolphins fans in them. Landry has been solid two weeks in a row now and it doesn’t look like he is going to slow down. There is no question that he is taking the touches away from Brian Hartline and opposing teams are not likely to view him yet as a huge threat. If you are going to play him, now would be the time as teams will soon realize that they can’t ignore him.
Cameron Wake: IDP leagues should have Wake starting every game. He is only getting better as the season progresses. While his tackle count remains low there is too much potential for sacks and fumble recoveries not to start him.
