Kevin Coyle should not be the Dolphins defensive coordinator
I have maintained that you can’t replace a DC when his defense is a top five ranked football team. I was wrong. Coyle can’t make in game adjustments and the Dolphins were gashed for an atrocious 277 yards. In two week the Dolphins have given up 480 yards on the ground and Kevin Coyle’s schemes are responsible. In the latter half of the 3rd quarter the Dolphins began using eight and nine man fronts to stop the Jets rushing attack and forced the Jets into making throws which they could not do. The Jets on the night ran the ball 49 times and attempted only 13 passes. They didn’t need to do more as the Dolphins couldn’t stop them until adjustments were finally made. It was a bad night for Coyle but one that seems to be more trending than an anomaly. While I don’t think I could stomach seeing Rex Ryan wearing Dolphins colors, I don’t think I would be opposed to seeing him replace Coyle after the season. The Dolphins could use some of his attitude.
