Ryan Tannehill will only get better

One of the biggest knocks on Ryan Tannehill is that he can’t close a game. He did on Monday night. No he didn’t throw the game winning touchdown and he didn’t run it in either but he led a last drive that put the Dolphins in position to win. A week earlier he led the team back for a final try against Denver. For the fifth game in a row Tannehill has completed more than 70% of his passing attempts something that ESPN showed last night as a feat Dan Marino, Steve Young, Peyton Manning, and Tom Brady have never done. Granted Miami fans would take wins and success over pass completions but consistency is key to winning and Ryan Tannehill has it.

He also has bad breaks.

Last week he sailed a ball just high enough that Jarvis Landry couldn’t make a clean catch and the ricochet bounced into a Denver Bronco’s defenders hands. Last night he threw to Lamar Miller who tipped the ball up into the air for another INT. Tannehill also had two balls thrown that should have been picked off on very bad throws. It’s something that he needs to work on. For now however we can take some comfort in knowing that we are seeing what Ryan Tannehill is and under Bill Lazor it could get, should get, a lot higher.
