It was the beginning of the end in 2005 when Nick Saban and his Miami Dolphins finished the season with six consecutive wins to finish 9-7 and then become one of the top teams expected to push for the Super Bowl in 2006. The biggest change came when offensive coordinator Scott Linehan left to take the head coaching job for the St. Louis Rams. The Dolphins would slide out of contention without Linehan as the offensive coordinator. The Dolphins were heading in the right direction until Linehan left. To be fair this change wasn’t something the Dolphins made themselves but it was change nonetheless and it had a ripple effect over the entire organization. It’s similar to the butterfly flapping it’s wings in Africa.
