2008

It was supposed to be start of something wonderful. Bill Parcells was the high profile football face that Wayne Huizenga needed to put the thought of Nick Saban away for good. His contract was fully guaranteed and he was given complete control over everything Miami Dolphins football. With Parcells came a new GM, Jeff Ireland, and a hand picked first time NFL head coach, Tony Sparano. With the group came Parcell’s hand-picked coordinators in Dan Henning and Paul Pasqualoni who ran the defense. Things appeared as though everything would get better. Despite the fact that the team did not have a starting caliber QB, Parcells opted to draft OT Jake Long over QB Matt Ryan and bet their futures on the arm of 2nd round pick Chad Henne. 2008 was the single biggest change in the last ten years for the Miami Dolphins.
