Four long years after Bill Parcells arrived the Miami Dolphins were swimming in mediocrity. Parcells was gone as was Tony Sparano. Yet Parcell’s touch still was present on the team as now full owner Stephen Ross retained Jeff Ireland after the 2011 staff was fired. Joe Philbin brought a ton of class to the organization and came to Miami after an exhaustive search that included an attempt to hire former Titan HC Jeff Fisher. Along with Philbin came an entirely new coaching philosophy which included Mike Sherman to run the offense and Kevin Coyle to run the defense.
