The Dolphins, for the 2nd time this season, give up a late 4th quarter touchdown to lose a game they led heading into the final minutes of the game. The loss to Detroit would drop the Dolphins to 5-4 on the season.
The loss to the Lions would turn into a side note as the team also lost starting left tackle Branden Albert with an ACL injury. The loss would force the Dolphins to move rookie Ja’wuan James to left tackle and Dallas Thomas to the right tackle position. The shake-up on the offensive line would signal the end of the Dolphins offensive line dominance most of the season. Questions would arise over why the Dolphins didn’t try and shore up the oline with street free agents. At the time of the injury both LT Bryan McKinney and right tackle Eric Winston remained unemployed.
