Super Bowl 2015: How Will Katy Perry Stack Up?
By Brian Miller
2005 – 2009
Let’s just put this in perspective here. I could try and get the page hits and make you click through to read the rest but the list of performers from 2005 to 2009 and then culminating in The Who’s performance in 2010 is amazing. Every single artist who performed will be an extremely tough act for Katy Perry to beat and in fact she can’t. Not many artists could except those on this list here. From 2005 to 2010 the NFL gave fans a true Pro-Bowl lineup of all-stars.
2005
Paul McCartney
2006
The Rolling Stones
2007
Prince
2008
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
2009
Bruce Springstreen & The E Street Band
Katy Perry
Forget about it. Katy Perry is nowhere near the league that these performers are and while her show should be good and fun, it will not have the impact or punch that the above five artists nailed. It was a great six year run of top halftime performers that the NFL has not been able to achieve since.
So who’s show was better?
While Perry should be able to outperform many of the recent artists over the last four years it will be impossible to come close to the six artists prior to 2011. For my money the best shows of the last decade belong The Who, Bruce Springstreen, and Paul McCartney. You can put them in order anyway you want.
