Time For A Top 100 NFL Free Agent List
By Brian Miller
It’s that time of year again. In fact it’s one of my favorite times of the year. Free agency in the NFL. With free agency comes a slew of rumors, cat and mouse games, big signings, small signings, no signings, and everything else you might find on a buffet table. All in the name of getting the team built for the next season. With that comes the annual ProFootballTalk.com top 100 free agent list.

Sure it’s just their opinion but it gives fans a great list of players that should come available on March 10th. Naturally some of the players will get franchise tagged and others will get re-signed by their current clubs but no worries, as the list dwindles ahead of free agency, new additions are often added as teams release players to get under the cap.
For example, Miami Dolphins wide-receiver Brandon Gibson and wide-receiver Brian Hartline are not on this list, nor is defensive tackle Randy Starks but all three could be released in the coming weeks and would most certainly land on the top 100 free agent list.
I’m not saying that the Dolphins need to sign the guys at the top but it’s a pretty good upper level list to check on and off. Here is a look at the top of the list and you can check out the rest by clicking the PFT link above.
"1. Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh.2. Chiefs outside linebacker Justin Houston.3. Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant.4. Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.5. Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul.6. Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb.7. Patriots safety Devin McCourty.8. Broncos tight end Julius Thomas.9. Bills defensive end Jerry Hughes.10. Steelers outside linebacker Jason Worilds.11. Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray.12. Panthers defensive end Greg Hardy.13. Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley.14. Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin.15. Ravens defensive end Pernell McPhee."
For those of you keeping score at home, Jared Odrick comes in at 31 while Charles Clay is listed at 48. Squeaking in at number 98 is Louis Delmas. Those are the only three, for now, on the PFT top 100.
