2015 Free Agency Update Post: Update 17

It’s time to kick-off the NFL league new year and already there are moves being made as the clock struck zero. Keep an eye on the article title for “Update” numbers. Updates will be labeled on the title with “PHINS” for Dolphins updates. Those updates will be “BOLD” faced below on the updated numbers.

Update 17: getting slower as the day progresses…players and agents in flight to new destinations. Rep0rt out now that Brandon Gibson has signed with the Patriots on a one year deal.

UPDATE 16: Frank Gore stood up the Eagles and now is an Indianapolis Colt. The Colts are also looking hard at DT Terrance Knighton and that looks to be a go. Colts going to be stout. Colts also leading in the pursuit of WR Andre Johnson.

UPDATE 15: The Dolphins today have restructured Brandon Fields, cut Shelley Smith, cut Phillip Wheeler, re-signed Michael Thomas and Kelvin Sheppard and tendered Derrick Shelby. No news on Suh. The Dolphins are currently around 6 million in cap space but if Clay is lost to Bills they get that 7 million back from the tag. Releasing Starks could take the team to around 18 mill in space without Suh contract.

UPDATE 14: 

UPDATE 13: Jeremy Maclin signs with K.C. for 11 million a year. Revis is drawing interest from the Bills. Harvin drawing interest from the Patriots. UPDATE 12: NY Jets release Percy Harvin officially. UPDATE 11: Miami Dolphins release guard Shelley Smith – HUGE holes at both guard positions right now. Phins save 2.75 million

UPDATE 10: It is being reported that Charles Clay is on his way to visit the Bills. Any contract offered or agreed upon will then have a 7 day window for the Dolphins to match. If they are smart they would seek other TE help and leave the Bills hanging.

UPDATE 9: Shane Vereen is now a member of the NY Giants. New England could lose a lot of players this off-season. Trent Cole signs 2 year deal with Colts.

UPDATE 8: Former Bills Da’Norris Searcy signing with the Titans. Hot rumors that Darrell Revis is returning go the Jets.

UPDATE 7: Chargers have agreed to a deal with former Bronco lineman Orlando Franklin

UPDATE 6: Julius Thomas the former Bronco TE will get $46 million and over $20 million guaranteed from the Jacksonville Jaguars who are looking to make big moves in free agency.

UPDATE 5: Mike Iupati has agreed to a contract with the Cardinals. Jake Locker has announced he is retiring from the NFL. Torrey Smith is now a 49er.

UPDATE 4: The Dolphins have restructured the contract of Brandon Fields. Jared Odrick accepts deal with Jaguars for $8.5 million a season. $22 million guaranteed.

UPDATE 3: Jets are expected to sign Buster Skrine, CB of the Cleveland Browns. Seattle will lose LB Malcolm Smith to the Raiders.

UPDATE 2: The Miami Dolphins are reportedly ready to release DT Randy Starks following the signing (officially) of Suh. The Dolphins will keep Earl Mitchell.

UPDATE 1: Seattle has traded with New Orleans for TE Jimmy Graham rumored to be for a 1st round pick and Max Unger. The Saints will also send a 4th round pick. Broncos have signed TE Owen Daniels Baltimore Ravens trade Haloti Ngata

To kick things off the Philadelphia Eagles are very busy as they have announced a trade of Nick Foles to St. Louis ( right player wrong team) for QB Sam Bradford.

It is a HUGE move by the very busy Philadelphia Eagles who have already traded for a LB Kiko Alonso and traded away LeSean McCoy.
