Miami Dolphins Top Five Players In 2015
By Brian Miller
It was two seasons ago that the Miami Dolphins signed safety Michael Thomas off the San Francisco 49’er’s practice squad. He rewarded his new team with a game saving interception off Tom Brady. Last season Thomas looked like the special teams ace the Dolphins needed and an up and coming safety in their rotation but a chest injury during the 37-0 win over San Diego put that rotation to an end.
Entering the 2015 off-season Thomas was an exclusive rights free agent and the Dolphins brought him back. Now healthy Thomas will once again jump back into that rotation and with Louis Delmas uncertain and an injury risk, Thomas could see a lot of 2015 playing time. I think he is ready.
For me, Thomas is the Miami Dolphins up and coming breakout player. In fact I could see 2015 being his actual breakout season. Thomas has the skills to play the position but only lacks the playing time. He will get plenty of opportunities to become the player the Dolphins hope he can be.
