Number 6

John Beck

The Miami Dolphins had just selected Ted Ginn, Jr. and passed over top quarterback prospect Brady Quinn. In round two they drafted the BYU quarterback. Beck would get the opportunity to start in his time with Miami but it would prove to be disastrous. Beck was unable to avoid pressure, couldn’t throw with any accuracy and finished his Dolphins career with three touchdowns and 1,417 yards passing in his one season with the Dolphins. He would play a final year in Washington before leaving the league.

Number 5

Jim Grabowski

The Miami Dolphins made Illinois running back Jim Grabowski their first pick in franchise history. Way back in 1966 the league held two drafts and Grabowski was selected by the Green Bay Packers as well. He opted to play for the Pack. While the player himself wasn’t a bust the fact that Miami’s first ever draft pick never played a down for the team stands to show how differently things were back then and let’s face it, it’s historical as the first draft bust by the team.
