No. 8 – Howard Twilley
The original Miami Dolphin, Twilley played all 11 seasons of his NFL career with the Miami Dolphins. He wound up surviving the early expansion day struggles longer than any other player. During that time, he did nothing in a spectacular fashion but everything in a consistent manner.

His career bests in receptions and yards came in 1968 with 39 catches for 604 yards. Twilley would never come close to those numbers again.
When Twilley retired, he was second in franchise history in yardage and receptions despite never having led the team after a season in either categories.
That’s impressive considering Twilley was working with an offense for a struggling expansion team when he first arrived. Then he had to battle for touches with the vaunted Miami Dolphins backfield in the 70s. He also had to deal with another wide receiver in the 70s…
