No. 2 – Keith Jackson
Keith Jackson was an elite level tight end. If he spent his entire career as a Miami Dolphin, he easily would have finished number one on this list. However, he only played in Miami for three seasons. But those were some very good campaigns.
His three seasons were third, fifth, and eighth on the all-time single season list for tight ends. Despite his later seasons with Miami being more productive, Jackson was named to the Pro Bowl in 1992.
Even though Jackson only spent a few seasons with the Dolphins he managed to set some tight end receiving records, one of which still stands. Jackson leads all tight ends in the franchise’s history with 42.7 yards per game. His record 3.3 receptions per game is only bypassed by Randy McMichael’s 3.5.
His production in the playoffs was also superb. In his four playoff games in Miami, Jackson hauled down 19 catches for 262 yards and four touchdowns. He averaged 65.5 yards per postseason outing.
Jackson finished his career as few others do. He went out a champion as a member of the Green Bay Packers when they won Super Bowl XXXI in 1996.
