Miami Dolphins: Madden 16 Ratings

The Madden franchise is an iconic electronic arts video game, popularized by former coach and commentator John Madden. I for one, have been playing the games since Madden NFL 97, but for any historical video gamers out there, the franchise was first started back in 1988. With the latest edition of the video game (Madden 16) being released later this August, lets check out how the Miami Dolphins rank in the hard-fought AFC East, along with some of the individual player ratings.

The team that ranks first, is unfortunately (but expected), the New England Patriots. With an overall team rating of 91, Tom Brady is back and trying to lead the Patriots to a seventh consecutive AFC East division title. Their best players are Rob Gronkowski (99) and Tom Brady (97). They also boast a talented defense, with FS Devin McCourty (94) and OLB Dont’a Hightower (93) leading the charge.

In second, our beloved Miami Dolphins have an overall team rating of 81. While I see this rating going up as the season progresses, it’s nice to see the EA video game makers give the Fins the second place nod to start things off in 2015. The Miami Dolphins best players are newly acquired Ndamukong Suh (96) and Cameron Wake (94). Both players will be fun to control when on the defensive side of the ball, especially when playing against bad offensive lines. QB Ryan Tannehill (85) and CB Brent Grimes (87) will also start the season with a decent rating. Additionally, new tight end Jordan Cameron (84) and starting running back Lamar Miller (84) both will be huge weapons on offense. If you’re wondering what rookie Davante Parker is rated, he will start the season with a “C” overall grade (76).

In third, the Buffalo Bills have an overall team rating of 79. Their defense looks tough, as they have star DT’s Marcel Dareus (94) and Kyle Williams (93), as well as standouts in the secondary with Stephon Gilmore (86), Corey Graham (84), and Leodis McKelvin (80). Their QB’s, however, are below-average options, with Matt Cassel (75), EJ Manuel (73), and Tyrod Tayler (72) battling for the starting spot. Lastly, former Miami Dolphins TE Charles Clay (86) will be relied upon as a security blanket all season long.

In last place, the New York Jets (suck, suck, suck) have an overall team rating of 76. Quarterbacks Ryan Fitzpatrick (78) and Geno Smith (76) will battle it out, while newly acquired WR Brandon Marshall (89) should be a big help in the receiving game. The Jets best players are on the defensive side of the ball, with DE’s Muhammad Wilkerson (96) anchoring the left side, Sheldon Richardson (91) holding it down on the right, and linebacker Damon Harrison (88) manning the MLB position.
