Drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs with the 15th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, Albert joined the Miami Dolphins as the teams top free agent signee at the onset of the 2014 free agency period following his first and only pro-bowl in 2013.

Albert quickly gave the Dolphins a top tiered left tackle after allowing former left tackle Jake Long leave the team via free agency. He has started 92 of 94 games over his career.

In 2014 the Dolphins offensive line appeared to be heading towards a great statistical season but Albert suffered a torn ACL against the Detroit Lions and would miss the rest of the 2014 season. The Dolphins offensive line struggled in his absence.

Albert enters the 2015 season with uncertainty. He is currently still rehabbing his knee but has returned to some light duty practices. The team is hopeful that he will be ready to start the season. When healthy, Albert has asserted himself as one of the top left tackles in the game.
