The road to the NFL was not an easy one for Miami Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake. In 2005 Wake joined the New York Giants after going un-drafted in 2005. He signed with the Giants in April following the draft and was released in June. After leaving the NFL he joined the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League where he played from 2007-2008.
In 2009 the Miami Dolphins brought the DE in for a look and signed him after two CFL all-star awards and CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie award.
In his six NFL seasons with the Dolphins, Wake has become one of the best pass rushing defensive ends in the league registering 250 tackles and 63 sacks while forcing 12 turnovers.
Wake signed a four year extension with the Dolphins following the 2012 season and has emerged as the teams best defensive end.
