C.J. MOSLEY
When the Dolphins brought Mosley in for a tryout the response was, “why not?”. Last year the Detroit Lions boasted the NFL’s best defensive unit and Mosley was a part of that. Four weeks into camp and many believe he won’t make the roster.
Yes the Dolphins are deep along the defensive line. They invested a 2nd round pick in Jordan Phillips and have two young players in A.J. Francis and Anthony Johnson but Mosley was supposed to easily beat them out of a roster spot and many originally thought that he was a shoe in for continual rotation with Earl Mitchell.
Not.
Mosley has been non-existent and making matters worse for him is the fact that he has been playing mostly with the deeper back-ups and still is not effective. Time for Mosley is running out quickly and he may not make it past the September 1st cut deadline. The Dolphins will need to move to 75 players and frankly Mosley doesn’t seem to be in the teams plans.
Signing Mosley was not a bad decision by the team. Ndamukong Suh speaks highly of him and should know his playing capabilities having lined up next to him in Detroit. That won’t make it easy for Mosley to get on the roster.
