December 20th, San Diego Chargers – San Diego
Last season the San Diego Chargers had one of the most proficient and high scoring offenses in the league as they headed into Miami. The Dolphins posted a 37-0 victory over the Bolts and the Chargers limped back to the West coast. This year the Chargers are hoping to challenge for the AFC West and have the talent to do it.
The NFL is coming into it’s final weekends and division titles will be on the line. San Diego is expected to once again boast a talented offense that can put high points on the board.
What makes this a difficult game is the travel. The Dolphins have struggled in years past with West coast trips and making matters worse for this years travel is that comes on a short week. The Dolphins will play the New York Giants on Monday night prior to this game and then travel in an already short week across the country.
This game is important due to the playoff ramifications it holds. Both the Dolphins and Chargers could be looking at a final push for the post-season and could have similar records making this a game that could have tie-breaker playoff implications. Add the travel, the importance of the game, the Dolphins missteps across the country, and the last two late season collapses and San Diego could put the Dolphins in a position of needing help entering the final weekends.
