Andrew Luck was selected seven picks prior to the Miami Dolphins selection of Ryan Tannehill in the 2012 NFL Draft. Luck has been spectacular in his career thus far but it’s Ryan Tannehill who has made the biggest gains over his rookie season. This could define a quarterback to quarterback battle for years to come as both players are tied to one another by that draft.
The Colts are a tough team at home and on the road and this year they will more than likely be sitting high atop the AFC South where they are far better than the Jaguars, Texans, and Titans who share their division. The Colts will likely have the division wrapped by this weekend but will also be hoping to have a chance at the number one or two seed in the AFC.
Miami will be standing in their way.
The Dolphins at this point match up well with the Colts but it will take a big game from the defensive front to stop Frank Gore’s rushing attack and the quick release of Andrew Luck. Miami will be coming off the California trip and facing a season finale against the New England Patriots a week later. This game could be a pivotal piece to the Dolphins post-season chances.
It would be easy to believe that the following weekends game against New England is their most important however if the Dolphins can take care of these five games New England’s game in week 17 may not have as much bearing on the post-season. Losses to these teams sets the Dolphins up for another late season collapse and losses to these teams could send the Dolphins playoff hopes out the window.
