TRENT WILLIAMS

The Washington Redskins offensive line has some question marks but not at the left tackle position where franchise LT Trent Williams calls home. Williams was drafted in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He was taken 4th overall. Over his career Williams has had to deal with some injuries that forced him to miss time. He has rebounded from his early career mishaps however and has made the pro-bowl the last three seasons.

Williams will not have an easy task come next Sunday. The Dolphins will line Olivier Vernon across from him but he will likely need to crack inside to help out guard Shawn Lauvao. Lauvao was a 2010 3rd round pick of the Cleveland Browns and joined the Redskins last season starting all 15 games he played in. He will be tasked with stopping Ndamukong Suh. If Suh can handle Lauvao the Redskins may need to have Williams double down on Suh allowing Olivier Vernon to face either a tight end or running back.

Williams is an exceptional run blocking left tackle and uses his arms well to keep pass rushers away from the quarterback but he can get inconsistent at times throughout the year and if he does so next Sunday the Dolphins edge rushers can take advantage. Williams is good though as three pro-bowls prove and the Dolphins will need to handle the edge putting pressure on Kirk Cousins.
