TERRANCE KNIGHTON

The Washington Redskins needed to beef up their interior defensive line and signed Knighton to a one year $4 million deal this past off-season. Knighton has had an up and down career since being drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 3rd round of the 2009 draft.

Knighton spent his first five years in the NFL with the Jaguars and later signed a free agent deal with the Denver Broncos. He never really became the player they had seen in Jacksonville and after two seasons replaced him with free agent DeMarcus Ware formerly of the Dallas Cowboys.

In his career Knighton has 201 tackles and 12.5 sacks. He has two interceptions, three forced fumbles, and 10 passes deflected. Knighton uses his body well and works to keep his hand free allowing to knock passes down at the line of scrimmage. Something Ryan Tannehill struggled with early in his career. Knighton will line up helmet to helmet with Mike Pouncey.

Pouncey has done well against power nose tackles and the Dolphins will likely allow Pouncey to handle Knighton one on one which will make Pouncey very important to the passing game and rushing attack up the middle.
