Week 12
@ New York Jets
The MetLife Takeover will try once again to stymie the Jets with their loud noise and the Jets will be trying to hold on to playoff hopes if they haven’t already vanished. It’s possible that the Jets have had a quarterback change and that could mean the return of Geno Smith. Smith is not a very good quarterback but he didn’t need to be when the Jets beat Miami last season.
Why the Dolphins could win
Miami is looking at the possibility of losing not just one by two or three games depending on how the Bills and Eagles games play out. Losses to the Bills, Eagles, Cowboys and Patriots earlier could put the Dolphins into a spin that they will need to fight out of. I suspect the Dolphins will be fighting hard this game and Ryan Tannehill will be in ball protection mode. The Dolphins should find a rhythm offensively that will allow them to move the ball. The Dolphins however are more likely to win this game on the defensive side of the ball where turnovers will be key.
Why the Dolphins could lose
The Jets simply have had the Dolphins number late in the season lately and again, they have a very solid defense that could create problems for the Dolphins. The game is again going to come down to the Jets defensive line against the Dolphins offensive line.
