Week Two
@ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Dolphins will stay on the road for the 2nd consecutive weekend but both of their first two road games are not only on the east coast but Jacksonville is a short ride north from Miami. It’s a quick in and out and the Dolphins should be able to use that to their advantage.
Why I think the Dolphins will win
Miami matches up very well offensively and defensively with the Jaguars. Miami’s running game should be on display here and the Dolphins Lamar Miller should find running lanes easy to hit. In addition the Dolphins passing game matches up well with the Jaguars corners and Ryan Tannehill should do well picking their defense apart. Defensively the Dolphins face a Jaguars team with a lot of question marks. While the Jags have a better offensive line than last year it remains to be seen whether they can stop this Miami front from rattling the young Blake Bortles.
Why the Dolphins could lose
The Jaguars are no longer a pushover and they have come away impressed with rookie running back T.J. Yeldon. If the Jaguars can use Yeldon to stretch the outside and utilize play action passing while also moving Bortles out of the pocket, the Jaguars may put themselves in a position to keep the game close and perhaps win the game at the end. The Jaguars have also improved on defense and while they are better, pressure on the Dolphins offense will be vital to keep the game close enough to win.
Predicition
The Dolphins face a team that is transitioning and the veteran leaders of the Dolphins should be able to get the supporting cast around them ready to go. It’s too early in the season for a Dolphins let down.
