Week Eight

@ New England Patriots

Foxboro has been a nightmare for the Dolphins and this year it will be just as difficult. The Patriots do not sport the same defense as last year but they seem to get the best out of players that might not start on other teams. The linebackers for the Patriots are good but this won’t be about the defense. This is a game that Miami needs to win if for no other reason it gives them a small bit of breathing room for the season finale in Miami against the Patriots.

Why the Dolphins could win.

Miami has an offense that may not be able to match the high scoring offense of the Patriots but an offense instead that can sustain long productive drives which would keep the Patriots offense off the field. Miami won’t score every drive but sometimes they won’t need to. Lamar Miller should see increased production this week as the Dolphins use the ground to control the game. Jarvis Landry also could have a big game and I suspect we get to see a lot more out of DeVante Parker by this time as well.

Why the Patriots could win

Tom Brady is Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski is his go-to receiver. In addition to Gronkowski the Patriots get a lot of use out of receiver Julian Edelman as well. LeGarrett Blount totes the ball for New England but he shouldn’t find much running room against this defense. The bigger question for Miami is can they defend Gronkowski? The Patriots will likely use the quick pass to defend against Miami’s pass rush and that puts the burden of winning on the Dolphins linebackers.

Prediction

New England 32 – Miami 28
